That's probably the one I used. I'm a PP with a 2005 model who got a replacement fob for about $200 or so from MX.

Yeah, that's where I go but i live close by. that guy is really good.

Walmart has a fob/key replacement thing by the auto center. I got a copy for my HHR for $40.

However, some cars, like Chryslers, are much more expensive, so $200 might be a good deal.

I paid $199 about two yrs. ago.

The amount it cost would seem like a bargain if you didn’t have a second key....

Nothing like paying $$ to have someone take apart your steering wheel.

A replacement fob and key for my 2009 Lexus was $120 from the dealer.

Dealer told me a new minivan fob (for my 2017) would be $700.

+1 I had a 2005 model, and it was about $200 to replace the key fob because they are no longer in circulation here. They had to import it from MX.

I went w/o a second key and then lost the only key. Getting a new key/etc was a LOT more (money and hassle) than just a new fob. When I bought my most recent car (used), the only point on which I negotiated was that I had to have a 2nd key.

It is both high and the going cost.

It's high, but the cost of replacements is just ridiculous.

Probably cheaper than the dealer.

I saw a machine at safeway that claimed to be able to copy fobs. No idea how well it works.

I found a locksmith who can provide me with a new fob and car key. I was trying to avoid dealer prices, which I know are high. The locksmith quoted me $275. Is this high?
