I think I will do Ally Bank for long term and maybe do chase saving for the $150 bonus...not sure it is worth it though...

I am sure PP meant it's over 250k FDIC limit. So anything over 250 is not insured.
This is why you want to open up several accounts. So you can park your money upto $250K without stressing out.
Also do CD ladder. Google credit unions. They sometimes have much better rates than banks. They do this to increase their deposits and ranking.

Actually Synchrony is offering 1.05% now.
After that, Ally, Barclays and PenFed is 1%.
