Android user here, I've been able to get the content I've typed back, by hitting the back button!

Just happened to me and I'm on android -- so, another level to the mystery.

I've taken to copying my comments in the midst of typing it... otherwise I'll be too frustrated to type it all out again if the page reloads.

I don't think I've made any changes but I'll look into it.

This is back for me in a big way recently. Auto refreshing within five minutes

IOS iPhone, Firefox browser. Wiped away comments.

There are several strange things with this. First of all, I use my iPhone to respond to posts all the time and I have never had it happen to me. Second, the "reply" page only has one ad on it and that ad should not refresh. As a test, I can try removing the ad from that page and see if the issue goes away. I'll see if I can find time to do that.

Do you reply using the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of the page or the "New Topic" form?

Mine is only on an iPhone too, and it is in Quick Reply, the reply to post. And even once when I tried to start a new topic. Happening for about 3 months now but much more frequent past few weeks.

How is auto-refresh even a thing?

Hey Jeff, I’m the poster from earlier today that mentioned this happening often too. Something weird is going on. Glad it isnt only me.

What it might be is an ill-formed and unload banner appearing directly above the quick reply. I see an ad now but when it has scrogged I don’t recall seeing that ad loading.

This thread in Off Topic may be interesting. Page refreshes are erasing replies just before they are posted.

I've experienced this too. When ready to submit the page just refreshes and it erases your reply. Not sure if an Ad is triggering it or just moving the page up/down with the scroll.
