Yes life is easier for tall people. You tend to look better and are more likely to be treated with respect.

I have two boys so yes, in general it’s better for taller guys. But I am 5’8 and DH is 6’3 and they’ve both been in the 90th percentile their whole lives so I would be shocked if they ended up short.

Sorry - context is that there is height on both sides of family so no chance kids would be short.

I don’t care too much, but dd10 is a competitive swimmer and her height gives her a small advantage. She is projected to be in the 5’9/5’10 neighborhood at full height, which she is happy about.

Our finished basement ceiling is low-ish, so I’m hoping not too much taller than 5’8 or else he will bump his head a lot.

I am 5'2" and DH is 6'3" and change, and they seem to be taking after DH.

I never thought to have a “want“ on this one. I’m sure in my husband is shorter than ever so my kids will not be tall. My daughter is just under 5 feet and will probably stay there. She actually likes her height, she is a pretty competitive/achievement-oriented and feels like there’s an “underestimate me at your peril” aspect to her. My son plays a lot of sports and so would be great if he’s at least average but it’s not like I think he’s going pro.

I read every post on that thread. DD got her period early and is not 5’ yet. I’m 5’1”. I don’t care if she’s tall but it would be nice if she reaches 5’2”. There’s nothing we can do about it and I don’t share this with her. It is easier to find clothes that fit if you are average height. Shopping has never been a pleasant experience for me since they never have sizes in stock. Stores do not stock their petite sections well, if they even have one in a store.

Agree with the 6’ minimum for my son. My husband is very tall and so far DS is tall for his age so hopefully that will continue after puberty. Our daughters are projected to be in the 5’8 range. I’m 5’5 and always thought certain clothing would flow a little better if I were a bit taller. I’m not unhappy with my height and don’t give it much thought but hope my girls aren’t much shorter than me.

I want my kids to be healthy, tall really isn't a priority and anyway, often taller people are prone to lower back pain and joint issues in their knees.

Yee, I'd prefer my son to be around 6 feet. I believe that as a collective whole, taller men are more successful in all aspects of life than shorter men. Of course, I want my son to be successful.

I don't care about my daughter. I don't believe that height is correlated to success in women.

Of course I realize all of this is out of my control.

Right, she's not short. Try being under 5 feet. That's not great.

Yes, but I know neither of them will be be and I’m okay with that (DH is 5”8 or 5”9 and I am 5”0)

Just read the thread about how many inches girls grow after first period, and a few posters expressed wanting their DDs to be taller.

My DD is average height and has never had any issues.
