Because our principal said she was sending more information on Monday. She is also doing live sessions answering parent questions every Thursday. I think central office is giving individual schools the deadline - as in no later than this date. Schools can set their schedules and tell parents earlier, right? I'd contact your principal.

Sorry OP but yes sounds like a planning disaster or rather no plan disaster.

We are at a charter and communication has been better and already know what the typical day schedule will be like.

We are saving our summer vacation for the first week of school. Even if we knew the schedule in advance, there is no way we are going to be able to get anything done.

How on Earth that virus didn't send its schedules to school in advance?! So annoying.

Massively happy we've moved to a charter. Even if it was perfect, large school systems are just not going to be able to pivot the way small schools can.

This is an example (that every single teacher on here has tried to tell you) DCPS doesn’t know what they are doing and they have no plans. Nothing...zero...zilch. Can you imagine if we were doing hybrid and you didn’t know until the week before school started what the schedule was? Please reach out to central office and demand better. Parents (and teachers) should not have to wait.

It was in the email the chancellor just sent.

And my mistake, it’s the week of 8/24, not necessarily 8/24 itself.
