This. If it is an electronic submission then it needs to be in by 17:59:59 because at 18:00:00 the link is gone.

If you are arguing over seconds, it will be late. Get it in hours early to allow for things going wrong.

Does it have a time is of the essence clause?

due by means it is due before that time. So due by Tuesday to me would be due Monday night at 1159:59
Due by 6pm would be due by 559:59

So weird, I would totally assume due by Tuesday means by the end of Tuesday.

due by 6pm means 6:00:00

Thanks!

That's interesting. I thought due by 6pm would mean before 6:01 because 6:00:59 is still 6:00 on most clocks. Never tested out the theory.

There was a thread recently about a college kid with an assignment due at 11:59 that he turned in between 11:59 and 12:00. It was marked late.

OP updated that the prof ended up not marking it late

And does due by 6:00 pm mean that 6:00:00 is the latest time to submit or 6:00:59? I'd never cut it that close, but was wondering.

I would have it in Tuesday morning.

I always assumed before end of Tuesday, but DH says otherwise.

And does due by 6:00 pm mean that 6:00:00 is the latest time to submit or 6:00:59? I'd never cut it that close, but was wondering.
