My kids are 8 and 10 with twin beds. If I could go back in time I would have selected full size beds.

Kids these days (including mine) are so spoiled. I had a twin until my senior year of college

Full. Twin is so small and the full will last longer.

We went for queens in our kids' rooms when they moved out of their toddler beds because (1) they're better for sleepovers, (2) they're better for guests if we need to combine the kids in one room for some reason, and (3) we didn't want to have to buy another bed, mattress, and bedding later down the road.

We went to twin / trundles and switched to Queen around 12. Why bother with Full?

If you want a bed that will grow, get an XL twin. That way it doesn't take up as much space, but will be plenty long no matter how tall the child gets.

The one problem with this is finding cute sheets for the little kid years (it's possible, but not as easy as you'd think!). XL twin sizes tend to be marketed to college kids.

As long as you still ahve plenty of play space in the room.

Another vote for full. Consider a twin/full bunk if there will be sleepovers.

We started with a twin and around 8 got a full as it was uncomfortable for more than one to hang out on the bed.

I also say full. My kids have two twins each, which they used for sleepovers. They don't have sleepovers anymore and have recently started asking for larger beds.

Full size is what we bought and are happy, as is our child.

If you have room, I'd go full. Good for sleepovers (otherwise, I'd get a trundle or bunk beds) and then when they grow up, you've got a guest room.

I'm moving my 3 year old to a regular bed. He has the space for a full....any reason to get him a twin or full in particular? Full seems so big for such a little kid but he'll be using it as a teenage boy also most likely. Yes I'm over thinking this....keeps me from focusing on the bigger issues!
