Out team manager’s kid was the weakest player on our te, and seemed to care the least of any kid on our team. The coach did not give him any extra playing time or favors.

If the team manager is extremely helpful and such a great source to the team and coach, wouldn’t you think the coach has to be just a little biased?

I don't think so but generally the Team Manager is someone who took the job because his/her kid is very excited and motivated about soccer so it may appear that way.

Maybe, but it is also likely that their kid always shows up for practice and games, is on time, wearing the right uniform, etc.

If they're good and the coach for the next year is lazy, it's protection from being cut if the kid isn't keeping up with the rest of the team

Mixed. For some of our managers it didn’t move their kid up in the depth chart. For some it seemed like it did.

LOL

No, they don't deserve it. It isn't that hard. I feel a kid could get break on training fees but other than that, nothing.

At BRYC they do for sure. We had a kid on our team that started every game. the next season the mother stopped being team manager and he barely played a minute. It was a little of both the reality that the kid wasnt that good to begin with. Then mix that in with a little FU to the former manager. So yes it happens for sure.

Do the Team Managers’ DC get preferable treatment by the coaches in regards to tryouts, playing time, etc?
