+1. My friend published a book, and her husband posted quite a rave on FB about how she is a superwoman. That was touching and totally OK, but #blessed every other day is not.

I have a friend who does this. She's been married for well over 20 years and needs to let everyone know it's going well. No kids and rumor has it that he cheats. I question the need to rub everyone's face in your "amazing" marriage. More like trying to show everyone that you're not failing at something.

I assume gushers are trying hard to convince themselves every bit as much as they're trying to sell their heart shaped image of marital bliss to others. Vow renewal usually suggests that something is or has been amiss.

When you meet people like this their first question is often, Are you on Facebook? Building an audience is very important.

It's normal, but DH and I don't do it. He has FB and barely uses it, and I don't have FB.

On a big anniversary - fine! Otherwise please don't.

Vow. Weird autocorrect.

I always assume vow renewals almost always mean that at least one of them cheated.

IME public gushers tend to be insecure about something, frequently the state of their marriages.

Normal? Not normal? I always wonder about the women who post about how in love they still are with their husbands and gush over their relationships on FB.
