I owned a BMW that never broke and my maint bills in one year was more than the maint and repair bills in my American car over a decade. $500 a tire, $500 battery, $200 oil changes
You fool. You don’t need to get new tires and batteries every year. Oil changes can be done at Jiffy lube once you get out of the free service mode. So your statement is pure exaggeration. Tired last 20-35 thousand miles. Maybe more depending on your driving.
American cars use the same tires brands. Dunlop. Continental and others.
I'm pretty sure the poster didn't say he was buying new tires every year....
My father owns a BMW (now six years old) and it's not cheap to maintain even though he takes great care of the car. My mother's Japanese car by comparison is pennies to the dollar in terms of maintenance costs. And it's older, and has twice the mileage....
I've learned from their experiences. BMWs look fun and are attractive but I don't care about cars enough to spend the money on them.
