In that class (compact SUV) I'd look at the Volvo XC40. You get a lot better value for money on the safety systems and the extended warranty/roadside assistance. The Audi's nice, but I think the Volvo's the best value in the class, with the BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA close competitors. All are easy to street park in the city. Parts and maintenance will be least expensive with the Volvo.

The Q3 is awful. Slow, plasticky, and cramped.

We'd like to upgrade to an small SUV for a better ride and more trunk storage. We are a family of 3, mostly drive weekends, and have on-street parking. A couple times a year we do a 1,000-mile roadtrip. Currently owners of a Hyundai Elantra, which we dislike for both the rough ride and poor gas mileage, much lower than advertised, and not as good as our previous Hondas. DH would like to go for a Honda or Toyota SUV. On a trip to Europe a few years ago, we drove a Renault Kadjar and loved it. Not sold in the U.S. but I believe the closest model to that would be RAV Sport. BUT I've seen the Audis around town quite a bit and really like the look of them and the reviews. My SIL has one and loves it. DH doesn't feel Audi/luxury is worth it nor does it really improve on gas mileage, apparently. I suggested we buy used or a floor model to make it more reasonable. Happy to hear arguments for or against!
