+ 1. OP sounds pretty clueless and insulated. Isn’t she friends with any working parents whose kids were (or still are) out of daycare? It’s a combo of waking up early/staying up late, trading shifts, relying on relatives or babysitters, and letting the kids fend for themselves for a little bit.

Mine is the opposite -- laid off the full-time people, and hiring freelancers to do small tasks here and there. For example, instead of a full-time marketing person, we pay someone per-project or hourly for very specific projects.

You can't make time out of nothing. You need to sleep. Why not a babysitter? I am pretty conservative on coronavirus, but I am looking into getting a babysitter a few mornings a week for the fall, since school won't be happening.

It sounds like you need to wait until your kids are in school.

Describe the thing you want to do. It depends if you want to start doing marketing consulting, or accounting, or designing clothing, or what.

If we have a sense of what it is we can give you ideas.

I have been a SAH mom for 4 years. I desperately want to start working at least part time on a business idea I have had for over a year but I find myself resentful and stressed that there isn’t a free minute of the day to possibly launch this plan into action. My husband works and has busy with not much flexibility. He’s in the busiest time of his career and is the breadwinner. We have a 2 year old and a 4 year old. The only “break” I hbe during the day is the “sometimes” 1-1.5 hour nap my youngest takes when my older one will sit and watch tv during that time. My kids are super active so even doing an email or call during the day isn’t possible. I’m frustrated because now is not the time to have outside sitters and similar in our home. I also feel like I need to do this for my own self. I find my anxiety increasing as my life seems to only revolve around just the children. So what hours of the day? Do people wake up at 4:30am to make something like this happen?
