Heads up: Bambini is opening a new location at 6th and L St NW this month, and they are holding open houses to tour it and register before it opens.

The survey asks about illnesses in the home and exposure to others who might have been ill. As someone else mentioned, they also survey about parent feelings on things like going outside, etc. It's also a good, regular reminder about the COVID policies.

They might be asked to self-quarantine if they've traveled to a COVID hot-spot.

Hi! Im also a parent over at Fed Triangle bambini.

I honestly cannot say enough amazing things about this daycare. Unlike other bilingual programs, this one is full immersion. Meaning it is taught by native speakers and they only use spanish with the kids 100% of the time. In addition, the teachers are so loving and truly care about your kids. My daughter is so happy to be there and she is so well cared for there. I used to dread dropping her off at daycare even pre the pandemic and now I dont, because honestly she is just so excited to go to school. I previously had our daughter in another perfectly fine daycare, but switched her to Bambini and have never looked back. She is only 16months, but if I am not moving quickly enough in the morning she stands by the door saying bye bye and “vamos” or “lets go” in spanish because she wants to go to school.
Also, as an aside, RRB allows parents to get a special pick up/drop off pass to park for a few minutes and drop your kid(s) off at Bambini. Just mentioning that for those families avoiding public transportation during these times.

Every family fills out a survey every two weeks on home habits/travel/contacts/etc. Every day arrival times are staggered so no bunching at the doors. Only one parent at drop off and pick up. No parents allowed inside. Temp check for kids and parents at drop off. Kids are picked up at door by teacher, change shoes into indoor shoes which stay at the center. Classes don't mix - teachers don't mix so each classroom is a self-contained pod. Classes were already small, so no issue there, but each class is 8 or fewer kids. Teachers are wearing masks as are older kids (I think, my daughter was in infant room, graduating to 1 year old room, and they don't). No sharing of toys, etc. Each toy, room and everything sterilized each night. Kids change clothes if they get drool-y or fluids on them. Teachers wear smocks that they also change if kids get bodily fluids on them. Proactive communication. If a kids has a fever they can't come back until resolved and with Doctor's note. Same if an adult has a fever. The two teachers in each class are carpooling and none are taking public transit. Vacations (closed weeks) cancelled this year as they were closed for a few months. Teachers are getting generous sick leave so they are not incentivized to come in if ill.

Yoga and music classes are through zoom into the class rooms. Only negative is that classrooms are not going outside much (It depends on the votes of the parents in the classroom).

Just getting the word out.

Could you share some info on their re-opening plan? Thanks.
