Subject: Changing OB at 32 weeks?
I switched at 35 weeks and so glad I did. First OB was business-like and efficient but did not listen to me at all. I'd had a truly bad first delivery w/c-section and extended hospital stay for both baby and me (different city so not same OB.) So when new OB announced she decided that if I wasn't in labor on due date she would 2nd c-section and was flatly inflexible on I found a hospital based midwife. I posted yesterday to the question 'was delivery ever enjoyable?' as my non-medicated easy labor - a week after due date - was safe and I went home day of birth with a wonderful healthy kid knowing I'd made such a good decision! Zero regrets

Just switch doctors within the practice.
Tip: pick a guy, not a gal. I’ve had 4 babies, and I quickly discovered male doctors are more compassionate.

Switch. Who cares about her feelings. You need someone that cares about your wellbeing too.

Trust your gut! I would try to switch doctors, but make the call today.
I switched from CWC to RHJN at around 34 weeks, and I’m so glad I did.

I just did this. Switched at 32 weeks. Baby born at 38 weeks. Best decision I ever made.

I did not like one of the OB's at CWC. I saw her once and she'd was nice, the next time she was dismissive and rude it brought tears to my eyes. I just decided never to see her again and I didn't until unfortunately, at my hospital discharge, she was on call. She was fine but I didn't ask questions and followed up with an appointment with another OB for after my release. I thought about switching but then I didn't want to have to learn the good/bad doctor(s) at another practice or go with a solo practitioner who may not be there when I give birth and I could end up with someone bad.
I'd probably stick it out with your current practice but never see that doctor again.

You should absolutely switch. I'm sorry your OB was so dismissive of you!

Yes, you can. But, do it now if you don't want to stay with the same practice. I dismissed my OB and switched at 38 weeks.

Or ask them to schedule you with someone else on her days? There’s probably more than one on call at any time.

Can you just switch to another OB in the hospital practice?

I did not switch, but in hindsight I wish that I had. Good luck, OP.

I wanted to know if this was feasible? Would I be able to find another dr to take me? I’ve been on hospital bed rest for the past few weeks and my OB was extremely rude when she came to see a few days into my stay. Sure, I was still emotional and in shock, not expecting to be staying in the hospital for weeks when I was 2 days in, but her behavior was so bad that even a few nurses commented on it. During my stay she has avoided seeing me during on-call days and I do not want to deal with her any further. I haven’t called around yet because she is part of a bigger OB group at this hospital and I’m waiting to be discharged before I make the switch. My husband thinks we should do it now, what is there to lose but I’m not sure about what to do next. Anyone ever deal with something similar?
