I have noticed Carters isn’t offering their normal 20% off $40.00+ either.

What do you deem to be expensive?

Well, the Carters ones used to be available "on sale" on a regular basis for about 16-18 for a 4 piece set. Now they are 33 and don't even have shorts sets available.

Thanks. I’m PP who asked what you thought was expensive and I’m sorry if that came across wrong. I just wasn’t sure how much you normally paid because I hadn’t noticed this but also haven’t bought pajamas in a while. I feel like I see adds for some of the stores I normally shop at saying their pajamas are on sale but I haven’t really looked to compare the prices. Again, sorry if I sounded rude or aggressive, I didn’t mean to.

I try to buy all my kids stuff used and have been noticing this at our local kids resale store and on poshmark. Just super high prices.

Agree, it’s been interesting to see how apparel has been impacted.

I’ve noticed some kids’ clothing staples that I usually buy the last week of July for Fall still haven’t showed up on the sites I usually use. And some small retailers I love seemed to have only received partial stock of summer stuff. The strangest and most specific shortage I’ve encountered was girls’ underpants at places like Target/Wal-Mart/Gap/H&M- for a while in late spring I couldn’t find any in size 4 no matter where I shopped!

I don't think it has to do with the fabric itself. The cotton snug fit ones are not chemically treated.

These are made overseas and if I had to bet money, there is a supply chain disruption somewhere along the line.

This is my guess too. Just wondering if anyone knew specifically what the deal is with pajamas, as I'm not noticing dramatically different prices on other clothing items.

I'd also guess supply chain issues.

Tariffs on goods from China plus supply chain disruptions as companies try to shift to non China sourcing.

They use special fabric for fire retardancy. Must be a shortage.

Because places like Carter's and Old Navy have mark ups built in so they can have huge sales constantly? Because there are actual quality standards for pajamas so they can't be as cheaply made as regular clothes? Just a guess.

I've noticed this too. I got a pair at Carter's for my son for $6 right before the pandemic and they've been $20 a pair ever since. No thanks! We've just ended up putting him to bed in his regular clothes.

I’ve noticed this too. I’ve been ordering from places like Primary because I like them more and places like Carter’s and Old Navy aren’t even cheaper anymore. I got some Nordstrom kids’ PJs on sale about 2 months ago for cheaper than Carter’s.
