Definitely necessary. Dated a good friend of many years when he turned 40. After almost 3 months, lightheartedly asked if we were exclusive. He said no. You have to ask. Always. Don’t assume.

2 motnhs isn't too soon at any age. Never assume exlusivity.

You need to have the talk or assume that she is still seeing other people. Two months is fine in your 30s.

I’d ask unless it doesn’t bother you she is still dating others.

Sounds like you are a man dating a woman. I’d bring it up. She may be waiting for you to do so.

I think it depends on the circumstance. I’ve been dating a young widower for almost six months and I’m not pushing him to define our relationship. It’s progressing nicely and I’m fine with that.

Two months is not “too soon” if you’ve been seeing each other frequently - but with covid, that might not be true...

What's DTR talk?

I'm in my thirties dating a woman in my thirties. I haven't dated or been in a relationship for a while. Is a relationship, or even exclusivity, assumed after a while? It seems kind of juvenile to have a DTR talk, but are you supposed to? Any suggestions for having one? I'm pretty sure she isn't dating anyone else (and neither am I), so I feel like it's almost bad to bring it up and say hey want to be exclusive. Is two months too soon?
