I know cars - this will not appreciate, lol.

Yes, Domestic vehicles typically do not appreciate in value.

Japanese brands™️ often do.

No. They most certainly DO NOT “often” appreciate.

A 2016 Honda Civic with 53,000 miles is never going to be worth more than a 2020 Civic of the same trim level.

A few - a FEW - Japanese cars, namely Toyota Supras and Datsun 280ZX’s - appreciated greatly in value after 20+ years of not being made. This was due to scarcity and attrition, rather than exclusivity.

But for the other 99% of Japanese cars, NO, they don’t appreciate in value.

My parents have had these for years, and they have been very reliable. People on here will say go for a japanese car, but if you can find a deal on a focus I'd go for it.

Any experience with this car? I am buying car for ds for college and there’s a 2018 Ford Focus 30k miles for $12k including taxes and fees. Any input on this car and if price is good would be appreciated. Really looking for a car that is good price but will also be reliable
