I wouldn't be concerned about it from a safety standpoint, but I don't think the distance learning component would be very effective. If you need the childcare it's better than nothing!

Our longtime daycare/preschool of 7 years is doing this and opening up to older kids. They will use the public school online learning and help the kids. Basically what ymca and other locations did for essential workers this spring. DS has been in daycare there for almost 2 months and they are fantastic. Id definitely do it, especially if i needed childcare.

depends on the age. I would seriously consider it for a younger child.

how are they going to supervise DL?

Full time, indoors. Higher transmission indoors. Spreading to family members. Long term consequences of the virus other than death.

Primrose has commercial space in DT Bethesda. Bar-T/KAH have both said that MCPS won't decide 'til August, but they are lining up alternative spaces.

If you don't need childcare to maintain income, it doesn't seem worthwhile to me.

It’s obviously a great risk. Schools closed for good teason.

What is the GREAT risk? I am truly curious. How many kids under the age of 10 have died?

Pools, daycares, camps, sports are ALL open. Still no kids dying. Stop dramatizing things

I would, depending on the ages of the kids. Unfortunately my husband is not willing so he will be quitting his job to stay home with my kids since I make more.

I work with young children and though there have been several positive cases at my place of employment, they have been isolated: there have been no cases of a child transmitting it to another child or to an adult.

We're going to do Bar-T if we can get a spot. I'd like to hear more about how many groups and kids they'll have at each location, but unless it's ridiculously crowded we think it's worth the risk.

If we have to cancel in November or December due to a second peak, so be it. Being able to recover at work in September and October would be worth it.

I have received emails from KAH, Bar-T and Primrose School stating that they will be opening up DL pods in their daycare settings for Fall. The plan is indoors with small static groups, safety measures (masks, hand washing), adult-supervised DL and outdoor play time. I am debating this option, but continue to have safety concerns. What do others think?
