Kickee Pants trainers were easier for our kids to pull up and down, though they are thinner than Hanna Andersson.

Agreed. I bought Gerber brand on Amazon and Sesame Street trainers at Target but all of them caused more accidents than anything. But they fit and absorbed a lot of pee if that’s what you need to know, OP.

We got some Elmo ones from Zulily, but she preferred regular undies after a week. Don't get too many to start!

They worked fairly well. The kid will still feel wet or dirty much more than with a diaper. But, if there is a little pee (like didn’t quite make it to the potty on time but got most of it in the potty), she won’t need a completely new pair of pants because of the extra padding in the training undies. My DS still likes them even though he’s fully trained because he says they are softer than regular underpants.

I went to target and picked up a pack of 3.

I got these from Target and a similar Princess set from Zulily. My kid loved Minnie mouse and Disney princesses. I suggest getting characters she likes to make it more fun for her and get her excited about wearing underpants.

That said, I was surprised that the training pants didn't actually hold in leaks. The pee leaked on the floor the same as with regular underpants. But she loves the characters so we still keep them in rotation and she gets to pick out which undies to wear every day.

I have an older boy that did not use much on training underwear( like 8) & a bunch of underwear ( like 20). They are all clean & lightly used. Are training underwear & underwear for boy & girl the same? My younger one girl is 18 months old, wonder if it is okay to use his brothers ones for initial tryouts. We will get her girl ones when she is 2 or something.

We used Gerber ones that I found on Amazon. They were soft and absorbent - but also barely used since it was easier to have her be naked.

Hanna training unders seemed to hold up and wash well and have cute designs. The problem with these and other training brands we tried- they are so thick that they were difficult for my child to pull up and down on her own.

So we just found the regular underpants to be better for potty training. Note I’m not giving “advice”, that is just my feedback on that type of product.

I’ll be potty training my two year old girl next month. We have decided to potty train using training underpants, and later regular cotton underpants once she has a better hang of things. I checked out gap and Carter’s for underpants, but they don’t have the thicker training style. Amazon has so many options it’s a little overwhelming. I’d love to hear recommendations of brands of the thicker training underpants that you have liked for your children.

Note: The purpose of my post is to get recommendations for brands or stores that carry training underpants for girls. I am not interested in hearing tips or opinions on how to potty train, or to “just use pull-ups” or to “just use regular underpants” or “why are you using underwear, you should do naked only for training” etc. I am looking for recommendations for a training underpant. Period. Thank you!! 😀
