Yes he has Hopkins and other advisors looking at the numbers. As a data scientist, I look at the numbers daily and you do not have strange anomalies like you see in other states

My one - minor - complaint is that it was clear that at the press conferences he has more underlying data that would be helpful to see. Ie demographics of hospitalizations etc.

Well, yes. Because he is one.

Thank you. There are things where I don't support him, but he's clearly trying to factor in both COVID and the economic impacts unlike the others who are ignoring data. Personally I'd close the bars, but on a pragmatic level I'm not sure that would stop reckless behavior by the people frequenting them.

He clearly doesn’t care at all about public education, so yes.

He needs to ban fishing again, like he did back in the spring.

That’ll put a stop to the spread.

Idiot.

Fortunately MD has Johns Hopkins to keep him from pulling DeSantis-style shenanigans with the data

Do we believe that numbers?

He has not done a good job with the pandemic. He closed things down too late. And opened up too early.

I will never forgot when his social media people scrubbed comments from those who disagreed with him. They were normal comments. He just could not handle people not loving him.

Don't worry, his real estate development company has been polluting and destroying habitat and preventing citizen opposition all along just like a good Republican. See: Crofton

He is not acting like a republican on CV. Or rather he is acting like a sane republican. He is making his best choice based on the data he has as well as under political pressure. It might be the wrong choice but he is not ignoring the data like some of his fellow republicans.

Unfortunately, yes. The bars and inside dining need to be rolled back because there are too many antimaskers and stupid people. I hope Hogan does this, but know he will be under tremendous political pressure not to.

Being a decent guy doesn't make it any easier to not bow to outside pressure. He's getting incredible pressure from the business community, especially the ocean city crowd. I hope he snaps out of it and does the right thing.

I so much admired Hogan for most of this crisis. But Maryland is now on the quarantine list for New York and for good reason. Why won't he admit he was wrong to open the bars? He seemed like such a good guy!
