Yes, but I know if I saw him I would probably turn bright red. And the funny thing is that he also lives here in DC (our HS was several states away) he is well-known in NW DC crowd and I know several people who know him but apparently he doesn't remember me

What? No. I just attended my 30th HS reunion and I thought I’d gone to the wrong place. Their faces looked like leather baseball gloves that’ve caught too many balls. I don’t want to look in the mirror, much less look at them.

Same as PP. My youthful crush was all about youthful attraction - unbelievable chemistry and physical compatibility, but lacking in almost every other quality I was looking for in a lifelong partner. I did not have similar instant chemistry with my spouse, but he has stood by my side every step of the way, through good times and bad, and is a devoted husband and father. I think that my crush eventually cleaned up his act, but I would never have been happy with his alcohol consumption or his wandering eye.

Jesus no I am 35 and basically nothing from high school other than some good friends is relevant to my life now. Anyone harboring anything from HS needs to learn how to live in the present IMO.

Yes, you're alone. I am SO MUCH BETTER than my high school crush now. I just looked him up on Facebook - he still lives in our home town and flips houses or does construction or something. He's married to a woman who is not that pretty and 15 yr old me would have thought he'd have married a model. He dated all the prettiest girls (not me) in high school. He is friends with all the dumb guys from high school. It's like he never moved on.

I really dodged a bullet there.
