I’d say definitely tip them if you’re paying someone else (like a business) and they’re employees. If you’re paying them directly with cash, you could tip them or not. If they’ve done a good job I think it would be nice.

I’ve also understood that you don’t tip the owner.

I just got quoted almost $5k for yard cleanup plus mulch. This sounded insane to me but I don’t know if that’s just the going rate??? We have a quarter acre, lots of overgrown weeds, ivy and bushes on front, side and rear. I was expecting something more like $1.5 to $2k....

I think they are being very well paid (I had similar work done, 8 hours by one person and paid $330), but the decision to tip is up to you.

They are trimming bushes, removing a weed/tree that’s growing up the side of the house, weeding and edging, etc. They arrived around 11am and are still going strong - I suspect they’ll be here into the evening. There are two men working. The cost was $850.
