Depending on how much anxiety and speech support he needs, you might consider Maddux. https://www.madduxschool.org/

I don't agree that Geneva Day School is play based.

We go to a school that normally has an option to extend to 3pm. But, they combine classes to do it, so no 3pm option this year.

Unfortunately, I think it may be really hard to find a program with consistent structure during COVID. There are likely to be closings and shifting to how things are done throughout the year. I'm not sure you're going to find something that has FEWER days off/half days than your old place did, given the scenarios.

Check out Kidsco Jr. My child is younger so I definitely can't speak to preschool, but my general experience is that they provide a fun, laid back environment for kids but with structure. They have a couple of locations in Gaithersburg.

Georgetown Hill offers full and half days, and they have many locations.

My schedule is much more flexible mow that I am telecommuting indefinitely and I would like to take this opportunity to switch preschools because our current one is too academic with too many days off/half days. My son has a little social/general anxiety and was in speech/ot prior to the pandemic due to mild needs (not enough to qualify for school based services) and I want him in a play based program that has a little bit of structure, small class size and a program that promotes social interactions. I'm in the Gaithersburg/Rockville area but could go to surrounding areas. Looking for something somewhat reasonably priced. Can do part time but need the option to extend the day to at least 3. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
