How many kids total will you work with? That's a lot of contagion unless you are virtual, in which case it will be tough to get 50 an hour,

I really don't think it would be hard for a certified teacher to get $50 an hour doing zoom tutoring.

We have a teacher doing virtual tutoring for $65/hour. I was skeptical about virtual but it’s going pretty well.

How did you find the tutor? I’m considering doing this.

So, you are not afraid of getting covid going to several people's houses and sitting there for hours breathing ??????

Hmmmm

They're probably tutoring virtually. I'm a teacher that's been virtual tutoring all summer.

^^ good to mention prep. I think many parents look at the hourly rate and think that it's too high, without realizing that a good tutor will take the time to prep for each session, and that the prep is specific for each kid. With strong prep, what the teacher makes hourly is much less.

That said, if you just need someone to guide your kids through their distance learning curriculum that the teachers prepare, that might be worth less, particularly if you can find a local high school or college student to do it.

I'm a full-time professional tutor, and I've been doing sessions 100% remotely. It's not safe to go house-to-house tutoring kids these days.

NP. Would you consider backyard or front porch tutoring? If not you, do you think there are tutors out there that would? I agree indoors isn't very safe these days, but would love to find an outdoor tutor.

I’ve been doing virtual tutoring all summer. 80-95 is what I charge depending on subject. Math and writing take more prep. I tutor about 9-10 hours a week during the summer. I chose not to tutor during DL. I’ve been tutoring for years. I use TutorFuse to get clients or word of mouth.

Try your neighborhood listserv. $70-100 per hour for a certified teacher, less for a college student without teaching experience.
