Yes, definitely go to an independent shop rather than anywhere like Best Buy.

I had three different dash cams as well as an amp and sub put into several different cars over the years down at Sonic Sound in Arlington. They always did a great job. Best Buy sucks. They barely function even in normal times. I went down to Best Buy in Tysons a few years ago and they didn't have a single person in the store who could answer any questions about subwoofers. The "installation guy" was somehow on vacation for an unspecified amount of time and as far as I can tell he never returned lmao

Any car audio place should be able to check it out for you. While it's always a big question mark fixing something another shop put in, it's not impossible.

Most likely, they'll tell you something is broken and you'll have to pay for them to install a new backup camera for you. Might be 3-400 dollars.

I bought a used car with a third party installed pioneer audio system. Very nice but the backup camera stopped working almost immediately. Otherwise has apple car play and good sound so don’t want to replace it. Where can I get it repaired? It could be it needs a new camera or the connection just came loose under the dashboard. Hard to tell. I have called Best Buy car audio numerous times and no one ever answers the phone. Thanks for any suggestions.
