Have you read the Moco plan? It’s not, not a plan. Moco mom & DC teacher here. Kids will be back in Moco & much more sustainably than in DCPS. DCPS will open too fast & too soon & close again. Moco will do s slow & steady & come out the winner.

NP. I agree, and I agree that MCPS may end up doing DL all year. But I appreciate that MCPS is watching what is happening and will adjust as possible/needed.

Distance learning isn’t ideal, but I don’t know what kind of socialization (or education) is going to happen if school is all about maintaining social distancing and masks, and it’s certainly not going to happen if there are more cases like the one in Texas where a kid infected both of his parents who subsequently died. I can tell that this really bothers you. You sound like you've given up hope. If you could make the decision unilaterally, what would it be?

No. The MCPS plan is disastrous. Dollars to donuts many kids never see a classroom this year in MoCo. And, "phased" return is not a plan ... its kicking the can.

I'm worn down. At this point I don't care. Anything planned will be disastrous so I wish DCPS would just go ahead and set a plan so we can plan as a family. I hate DL and my children really need the social interactions and emotional stability a regular in-school routine gives them. But if that's not going to happen, then ok. Just tell us. Now. I agree, even though I didn't like DL. It makes sense to start off slowly so they can get it right.

I really applaud MCPS for being so thoughtful with their plan. Seems like the right thing to do, plus it gives parents plenty of notice. They’re doing DL to start the year. I wish DCPS would get a reality check.
