Divorced Mom with 100% custody here. Four year olds are tough but it does get better! And don’t swear some screen time if it is what you need for sanity.

Just wanting a check in with other single parents( define that as you may and you’re welcome to chime in).
I have been struggling. I am my child’s playmate (4) we are cutting back on screen time so I can engage with him more thoughtfully. I also asked my company for access after hours so I can work at 3am when I’m struggling to sleep.

I also am on anxiety meds to keep myself leveled out when I feel super stressed or on the verge of burning out. That has helped a lot. I’m finally reaching a small place of gratitude and cherishing this time even though it is very difficult. I find myself giving thanks for little things: the pancakes aren’t rubbery, no teethbrushing fights, the internet isnt crashing on me lol I am still employed.

Just checking in. It’s still hard. It’s grossly hard but it’s actually ok.
