So much stuff and activities yet none of it is exciting
Can’t get excited or appreciate anything
Poor manners, not grateful, has to be told to say please and thank you and doesn’t mean it
Never satisfied, manipulates parents to do things for the sake of getting their way

Spoiled != Buying the kid expensive things. I’m not in a position to buy my kids expensive things but the families I know who are mostly have very polite, disciplined, hard-working kids.

Entitlement

My kids are privileged and I make sure they know that. As a result, they are expected to use their voices and their time and their money to make things better for others.

If your child is a junior or senior in high school and you are the one doing all communication with teachers, including asking details about assignments and haggling about grades, your child is spoiled. And unprepared for the future.

We are not rich but have a lot more than others. We don't just buy stuff when DD asks though. I have a friend who is lower income than us but their kids literally get a toy everytime they go to the store and have unlimited screen time and their own phones. My kid is 8 and theirs are younger. I think her kids are spoiled because they kick up a fuss and get screens to keep them quiet or a toy.

Spoiled is when the parents lack of basic and essential parenting (teaching boundaries and limits for self and others) has turned the child into someone that nobody really wants to be around.

If they can't handle being told no.
If they expect to get everything they want.

Vs it just being normal behavior for their age?
