Yes. I was my dad' favorite. Sister is mom's favorite. As in, it is insane how little she noticed even when we were kids. I was basically Cinderella compared to sister when it came to mom. Dad adored me, I could do no wrong. Someone on dcum posted that perhaps that might have been why mom blames me for everything in her life, maybe who knows.

My older DS has ADHD and is a huge introvert. The irritability, moodiness, and social awkwardness is exhausting. I am naturally extroverted and connect with my younger DS better.

Yes and it’s not always a benefit to the chosen one.

My dad told me I'm his favorite.

I'm not sure if I have a favorite, but I click more with my DC1 and we share a lot of interests (board games, card games, silly jokes). But my DC2 is only 3, so not old enough for some of those (and maybe just not as into them, my DC1 loved board games starting at age 2).

So I guess I enjoy them in different ways. I love it when DC2 comes into our bed in the morning and we can peacefully lay together/snuggle. When DC1 comes, it's a disaster as he can't keep still, can't stop talking, etc.

DC1 gravitates toward me, and DC2 gravitates toward DH. But we are each close with both kids.

This place s true for me.

However, growing up my sister was my father’s favorite- by far.

Yes. My older kid is a challenge and I just don’t have the patience for it. The younger one has his moments, but is generally really sweet.

I worry about this. Our oldest can be a challenge and my ex sees no problem with openly favoring our second. It was the source of endless arguments. At least at my house I know they're treated equally.

Of course we love both children equally but our firstborn is my husband’s clear favorite, and our second is mine. It was like this in my family growing up too. Idk, I think as long as both parents don’t favor the same kid and aren’t blatantly unfair it’s not a big deal.

No, but then I never had a truely difficult child. They are adults now.

I have two kids and I don’t have a favorite. Sometimes one of them is easier than the other, but then it changes. I’m so glad I don’t have a favorite, that would scare me. The kids know.

My father always liked my brother more. I try not to have a favorite kid.
