Keep checking the website to make an appointment. I needed new plates, looked for an appointment and could only find them for August -- checked again the next day (a Friday) and found one for the following Monday. I think they pop up on short notice sometimes.

Also look for odd or far off locations and make a day trip out of it.

They were only extended for those expiring prior to 30 July.

Oh wait, DMV cannot do licenses. Sorry. I thought expiration dates were extended?

Yes. Call a DMV select. I got into Fairfax Town Hall within a week.

My license expires 5 August. Alas, it has to be renewed in person since it is ancient. Earliest online appointment I could snag was for August 17th!! The extension for expired license is only valid for those expiring prior to 30 July. Do any of the locations allow same day appointments or walk-ins?
