A little bit does get on the skin. But I think if you’re wearing long pants and long sleeves that helps to minimize skin exposure.

OP here - do most people just spray the deet in your kids’ clothes? And does that keep them away from skin?

i live in the forests in CT full of nasty bugs, EEE mosquitos, lyme ticks, etc. I use deet, I use the cutter brand non scented and put it on in our yard or whether hiking. I put it on clothes and avoid skin, but I don't mess around, rather than finding ticks or some weird bite or rash, I'd rather use deet.

Depends on what the purpose is. Playing in the backyard/playground, or going hiking/playing in forested areas?

After similar concerns and a bunch of reading I got the 7% DEET - and try to spray mostly on clothes.

Avon skin so soft bug guard plus spf 30. It actually works well.

I realize I could use deet or picaridin, but the thought of them touching it and then putting their hands in their mouths freaks me out. Anyone know if a decent natural one that actually works?
