My XH pays $100/mo (when he pays) and I have the child 80% of the time. Trust me, it costs many hundreds a month to raise a child. Financially, I’d be much better off with 50/50 and no CS. I’m not in it for CS. I want my child to be safe and have a stable home. Her father values buying weed over buying school supplies.

I gave up all child support so I could have custody. Please provide links to the peer reviewed research you reference. I do not know I single instance of this.

Both of them are winners. She probably did it for the child support. Its a lousy thing to do. Really lousy. Obviously if they are divorced he wasn't a good replacement father.

We know you think women only want custody for CS. You post it on every thread. Is that why your mom wanted you?

Maybe she wasn’t married before. People do have babies without being married.

The marriage is not "sufficient" to trigger the change. In your situation, you got married AND you had an adult available to provide more childcare. That's two changes. The marriage alone is not enough.

There have been a number of cases with very young children. Typically, the parents were never married and the child is in daycare or perhaps being watched by a variety of caregivers while the mother works. When the father marries, his wife wants to SAH. Their “solution” is to get 50/50 or full custody on the grounds that the stepmom is better than daycare.

Nope, not even close.

If the marriage somehow altered the parents' living situation in a relevant way, like caused them to move from one state to another, that could potentially cause a change. But just the fact of marriage alone, no way.

I have primary custody and my ex is getting remarried. Does this trigger a change in circumstance sufficient to warrant a change in custody?
