My ped said no need to stop. Kids don’t transmit the virus easily.

October is flu season, which makes me nervous. But I know that last year I would have accepted that risk, so I will this year too.

Our ped and OB both said send likely ok to send older child back to daycare, which reopened when #2 was about 4 wks old. We did and it’s been a month and we are comfortable with the precautions at place at daycare which we already trusted prior to COVID and DC #1 has a teacher we are confident in regarding judgment and management. But it’s a personal decision and risk/benefit analysis for sure.

Our pediatrician said 10 to 12 weeks of strict isolation but we’re in Los Angeles and we’ve had a huge surge here.

Our pediatrician did not recommend holding older DD out of daycare, unless DD#2 was premature.

I have two kids in school and am due in October, I’m planning on sending them at least for the two days a week school will likely be in person. They need the socialization.

I'm not sure that a pediatrician has an answer to this question. I ask ours just out of curiosity and she said she doesn't have a crystal and you have to weigh the benefits against the risks.

I’m due in August. I think it completely depends on the situation at the time, it’s hard to tell now. If the local numbers are relatively low we will continue to send my 2.5 year old to daycare immediately after the baby is born.

We are due with our second in October. Our older child will be 4 and is normally in full time daycare. Has anyone spoken to their pediatrician about how long they’re advising to keep an older child out of school with a newborn? I know everyone’s situation is different. Just looking to hear what other doctors are saying about this.
