Not everyone has the same type of skin. The more lotion I use the drier my skin gets, it stops making its own moisture. I use nothing on my own body but soap and water.

When we do use lotion I use eucerin or cetaphil, something with no fragrance or parabens.

Same here. I never put any lotion on baby or a toddler. I don't bathe them often.

Only on eczema. Why lotion otherwise?

Yes I do. My sons skin gets very dry if I don’t. Plus he loves the lotion and it smells so good (Aveeno lavender) so I will probably Keep doing it for as long as he lets me.

Yes. We were only putting lotion on after baths but she got eczema and ped suggested lotion twice a day. It's much better now.

Yes but because DD has eczema. Not sure I would do it otherwise unless she had a specific need. I only lotion up my own face and I'm generally more on the dry skin side. I don't think it's malpractice to skip the lotion if you think your kids don't need it.

I am a white parent of a black child and yes I lotion after every single shower. I have been told I cannot let my child out with ashy skin.

I always apply lotion after a bath to my 16 month old. Partially I do it because that’s what my family, including myself, always do after a bath. In the winter she gets dry skin so that’s why I do it then. We use Aquaphor. It seems weird to me not to use lotion after a bath- it’s just one of the steps to the ritual. But again I’ve been doing that my whole life.

Yes. Their skin absorbs the lotion better right after a bath. We are still using Aveeno.

Since my DC were little, I always applied a baby cream to them after their bath. As they have gotten older (now almost 2 and almost 4), I have been lazier about applying lotion. Is this something everyone does religiously after a bath? Or was I the only one doing it before? And if it is the former, what brand?
