We’ll do grilling, sparklers, and a dessert of some sort. Kiddie pool or sprinkler if it doesn’t rain.

In my defense I went to school in another country but I am still an adult and kind of ashamed that I never realized that slavery was legal for another 100 years ( or so ) after Independence Day

Yes, Independence Day celebrates America’s independence from England.

And the song we sign says " the land of the free and the home of the brave".....except not everyone was free. I may never sing the National Anthem again.....

You won’t sing the song because we haven’t achieved that goal yet?

Ok.

I don’t feel right about celebrating it this year. But I will probably make some ribs and slaw and watch A Capital Fourth. I like the music.

It’s not really on point, optics wise, and as a matter of principle. to celebrate it this year.

A nice meal at home, a movie. No guests.

None. I don’t care about the holiday.

Might have a couple people over in the backyard. Since people seem to be setting off fireworks 24/7, maybe we will actually walk around and enjoy the show.

Until this year we have spent every 4th visiting my husband’s family back east as it was the one holiday we could all get together but not this year and we are bummed out. So, we will have our kids and grandkids visit us for the day and hope for good weather so we will all be outside.

Sit on the back porch and watch the neighbors set off fireworks in the alley. Usually we go to the celebration at Old Soldiers Home, but that's obviously cancelled this year.

CELEBRATE the 244th birthday of the most wonderful country on earth!

We will do local fireworks and have a socially distanced big BBQ. Probably a small kids parade as well.
