We've been on outer cape for a month. Lots of the usual out of state plates (especially in last week or two). People are wearing masks and distancing on streets, parking lots, paths to beach. Masks are off on the beach; we've never had a problem with people coming within 10 feet of us on the beach, even little kids. Some restaurants are open for outdoor dining but we're not doing that and have found plenty of options for call ahead takeout or delivery, grocery delivery, etc.

We’ve been in Falmouth for a month. The weather is literally perfect. People wear masks and distance. It is SO nice to be in a lower density environment. Do it in a heart beat. You won’t regret it.

Go. Staying in a house on the Cape is an excellent form of social distancing. The beaches don’t get too crowded either, if the house has a parking pass.

Please go. The cape survives on tourism and they would welcome you. Just wear your mask and be sensible. Please buy lots of local things!

Senile vocal minority. Fixed that for you. And most of them come from Florida during the off season (often own a home in both places), so they are nothing but hypocrites.

Go OP, make sure you have access to a private beach, so it is not crowded, and also you have access granted by deed.

The many year round residents who depend on the summer business for their income are happy to see people. We're heading there tomorrow to stay at a family home for two weeks. My sister-in-law is there and said it is beautiful. Go and enjoy!

Just go. Sounds perfect. Lots of people down here have gone to their own houses on the Cape, and things seem fine.

Friends of ours who live overseas have offered us the use of their house on the Cape. We had a death in the family recently and we would really love to get away for a while. We know this area of the Cape a bit from having visited our friends in past years. It's lovely and relatively private. If we go, we would drive and would pretty much just hang out at or near the house, go to the beach, play some tennis -- just low-key vacation activity. Another friend who lives in the Boston area has expressed some surprise that we would consider doing this because she thinks as out-of-staters we would not be welcome. If you're up on the Cape now, what's your impression of how in-state residents view visitors? (I did see on the "visiting family in MA" thread that one poster said there are plenty of out-of-state license plates on the Cape right now.)
