This.
We shut down the economy for months, destroyed businesses, put millions out of work--to "protect the elderly." This plan is a slap in the face to everyone that has lost in this crisis!

Bring your child to the grandparents and have him stay there until there is a vaccine. Only then will we all be safe.

OP, lots of grandparents are taking care of kids on a day to day basis.

Ok, but the tests have a high false negative rate. That’s not foolproof

STOP.

It’s fine.

NP here. YOU STOP THE CRAP. Covid infections are on the rise and elderly people are still dying. It’s so fricking far from “fine”.

Yeah. I don’t understand why people don’t understand this. If you are working outside the home and you take the kids to stay with or visit their grandparents, you could kill them. Why don’t people get this??

How old is your son? My son is seven and I’d miss him too much to let him leave for a week every other week.

Depends on how old you’re DS is and how close he is to your parents. And your parents are okay with this? Sounds like a risk to them.

Kids learn a lot from their grandparents. Go for it.

Is this feasible. Both my in laws and my parents leave 2 hours a way. We were thinking about on the off days meeting them half way. If they do one week on, on week off this would be easier than a m/w or t/h schedule. I’m running out of ideas, neither my husband or I have jobs that we can work from home.
