It wouldn’t take long for the average person to wind up on Medicaid at those rates, even with a pension and SS. Perhaps a couple of months. Plus, a lot of facilities won’t even accept Medicaid.
That’s about $164k a year. If you have full time care in home, it will be more. If you need 24 hour care, you are just waiting to die. Hopefully that doesn’t take years.
