The email from our school (Chevy Chase) was very confusing, but when I looked at the actual sign-ups for each option (all 3 weeks, just the first week, just the second week, just the third week), I saw that there were different classes for each option, with a couple repetitions.

So for example they offer Latin as one of their classes that last 3 weeks. But if you want to sign up for just one week, there is no Latin.

I emailed with the CCES assistant principal about it. If you want any of the options offered all 3 weeks, you sign up for all 3 weeks even if you only want 1 or 2 weeks of it. You can also sign up the 1-week options on top of that.

Did you get an email from CCES or just your teacher? I have two kids at CCES. We got one notice about this from one teacher, but she sent it over Class Tag with links to google docs that didn't give us access to anything and there weren't any times or directions in the PDF that I could see. I didnt have the bandwidth to ask for better/more clear info.

Oh, also we got an email from the school that only 75 families have signed up and they are hoping more will so that they can staff all of the options.

Our school has math first, then specials, and then language arts.

My frustration is that during the elective time, they are offering classes for ELC which I think should be during the language arts time.

I do wonder if there will be homework...

I signed up for math and specials but have been given no times and did not pick any topic for specials.........I’m guessing each school varies but it’s frustrating.

They told us at our school we could do any or all of the weeks, so I don’t think you have to go to week 1 to do weeks 2 or 3.

I'm very confused. Is the instruction going to be cumulative, so I should not sign up if I have to miss the first week?

Our school wasn't really clear, it just said sign up for no more than 3. So I signed up for math and 2 specials. I have no idea if the specials overlap or not.

OP here - we have 9-9:50 ELA and math (choose 1) and then 10-10:50 special. So while they say you can take 3, in reality you can only take 2.

I was told to select the classes and then they would schedule the times based on demand.

I’m curious what schools are offering. Ours is providing 3 weeks of programming with up to 3 classes per week. However, ELA and math overlap, so you have to choose one or the other, which seems like an odd choice.
