I think children under the age of 5 are not required to wear masks. It's an option

I thought in Maryland children under the age of 5 were not required to wear masks

Serious question: how do they get 2 year olds to wear masks?

Are they actually having the 2 year olds wear masks, or just saying that they are?

They are actually wearing the mask from what I see at pick up and drop off and told from the director with whom I am close with. That’s like saying how do you keep a two year olds shirt on? They just do it.

Wearing a shirt is not even remotely the same as having something covering up how you breathe. Plus the effort to take off a shirt at that age is like 10x what it takes to yank off a mask. Amazing that I had to explain this to you. Two minutes of my life I’ll never get back.

A shirt is very different from a mask. For one, a lot (most?) two year olds would struggle to get a shirt off without help, while a mask is trivial to rip off.

I can never get my kids to wear hats or mittens in the winter, either.

I just received a carters order with kid masks.

My kids have masks and wear them but not at daycare. Their daycare is not requiring kids to wear masks, just adults, and what I can see none of the kids are wearing masks.

We haven’t started yet but my 3yo will when he starts going. I found kids’ masks at Old Navy (online) and they fit nicely and were priced well.

I found some on Etsy that were small enough for my petite 4yo. I also thought I heard that Carters was going to start selling masks this month, but I haven’t seen any yet.

Our daycare center just reopened 2 weeks ago. They don’t require masks for the little kids, but they will assist with mask wearing if we want them to. All adults in the building are masked at all times, class sizes are limited, classes don’t mingle, no parents are allowed inside, temps taken, etc. after speaking to our pediatrician and learning that the risk of transmission among children appears to be relatively low, we have decided not to attempt to get DD to wear a mask all day long.

Yes, my 5yo does at PreK. All the kids do. It doesn't seem like a problem for this age group, but I'm not sure how the younger classes are faring.

No, masks for kids are not required at her daycare. My neighbor made a mask for her, but I’m sure you can find some online.

Does your kid wear masks at daycare? The whole time? Where do you get those kid masks? I am talking about the cloth ones & disposable ones for 3-5 year old kid. I have problem trying to get any of those tiny masks (not the ones designed for 8 year old), and I don't see the possibly of kid wearing masks full day at daycare. I am debating sending kid to daycare WITH masks (if I find any those tiny masks) or WITHOUT masks.
