I live nearby. It's a major road for the area. The DOD facility will surely mean lots of traffic at certain times of the day. There are sidewallks but it doesn't feel like walking through a community -- it feels like walking along a busy road.

I would not want to live on Sangamore but there are some decent houses along the street and for the right price I can see why someone would consider it. Overall the surrounding neighborhoods are great and the commute to DC is good. Good schools, too.

Those buildings have been there for many many years but are being renovated.

I live near there and drive on it nearly every day. It’s very busy. I can’t speak to community but I think different parts of it are technically part of different neighborhoods - sumner and glen mar park on one side of the street, glen echo heights and fort sumner on the other side (I think- you’d need to confirm).

We live nearby, and I would not buy a house on sangamore if my expectation was to have my kids play in the front yard or walk anywhere. It’s a very busy road and people drive quite fast. We have friend who lives there and when we visit we are very careful when we park on sangamore and get the kids out to get in the house. However, they have a lovely backyard where their kids play.

We live on Sangamore.

Parts of Sangamore closer to the shopping center have sidewalks, but the blocks close to Massachusetts Ave do not. It’s a fairly busy road during rush hour. However you still see plenty of kids playing and riding bikes on the sidewalk with parent supervision. We can’t hear the traffic when we are in our backyard. Don’t hear much in the house. Homes on the north side of Sangamore are set back further from the road than homes on the south side.

My mother, who passed away 5 years ago, lived at Sumner Village near the shopping center. I recall it being busy during rush hour and when school is in session with school buses going up and down. However, I remember seeing quite a few young families in the houses along Sangamore Rd. and the housing development that runs adjacent to it.

Does anyone live on this street and can comment on how busy/noisy it is? Google Street View seems to show no sidewalks, so I'm guessing there's not a lot of foot traffic or sense of community?
