All of mine are charging the regular price - same as always. But my kid is older and does mostly outdoor sports camps.

We are doing two weeks at Camp Sonshine. Price did not change, it’s just over $300 a week for 9-3. It was originally 9-4 so I guess I lost an hour but I’m ok with that. Camp has always been expensive in my opinion.

OP no one is gouging you. They need more staff to maintain the now-required ratios. More staff=higher cost.

Supply and demand. Plus like earlier posters said, they can take fewer children per staff person.

I found the pricing for the 6 week mini Camp at Congo to be totally egregious. They wanted like 5K per kid for 6 weeks.

My son’s camp didn’t ask for any additional money, so I am paying the price set back in January. Given the huge changes they’ve had to make, along with dramatically reduced participation, I feel certain they are losing money. I am hoping, for their sake, that more kids will be in camp starting next week so they could get closer to break even.

You are free to find a better price or stay home and watch your own kids.

I seriously don’t think they can operate with the same rates they had pre-pandemic. They are probably running at 50% capacity but have to pay staff and all other expenses the same no matter what.

The reason they used to be cheap was because they couldn’t roll lots of kids.

I spent yesterday looking at which outdoor sport camps were running and they looked like the same cost as any other year. I paid $180 for a half day skills camp that had openings. I found the new, online virtual camps to be outrageously priced.

My kid is going to a horseback riding camp that is $930 for two weeks (10 days) of 9-4 each day. I think you overpaid. That price hasn't changed from the pre-Covid advertised price.

My other kid will be attending two different day camps. One raised its prices by ~30%, while the other didn't raise theirs at all.

Ugh.

Regular day camps charging double their normal week rate.

Their fixed costs are probably the same but with half the number of kids.
