His kids all graduated from NE boarding schools, so I don't follow how that kept him in the District. I suspect it's just good ole fashion tax dodging on the new FOX deal. Likely a nine-figure contract extension.

Where did they go to school?

He moved to the very exclusive and essentially private Gasparilla Island, next to his blueblood pals the Bush Dynasty. A real man of the people!

Just like his pal/boss Lachlan Murdoch, who recently bought the most expensive mansion in LA County. $150 million.

Isn't it possible the tree was there before the pool and they just tried to save it instead of cut it down?

No.

That looks like a crepe myrtle. It is intended to be trimmed more I would guess.

I don’t like the stone facade. I think remember seeing this for sale the last time and thought it looked weird.

He is very Florida. Will fit in well.

I drive past his house every day and it's on right on the road -- no front yard -- and I always think someone is going to lose control of their car and crash into it! He's bought and sold three houses in the neighborhood in the past 6-7 years--who wants to move that often? And if he is moving to Florida--good riddance.

The backyard is gorgeous but the front leaves a lot to be desired for 3 million plus. Florida seems like the right fit for him!

Moving to Florida, supposedly.

On the market for just over a week, the mansion has already attracted buyer interest and is currently in contingent sale status.

If the listing sells for asking price, Carlson will pretty much break even, compared to what he paid for the place in 2017. He acquired the home, which was built in 1998, for $3.895 million three years ago.

With five bedrooms and 6.5 baths, the 7,400-square-foot custom home, built by Jim Gibson Builders, includes a main level with 10-foot ceilings and generous entertaining spaces. The gourmet eat-in kitchen comes with an attached family room for casual dining and lounging.

The large master suite offers two walk-in closets and a master bathroom, and there are four more en suite bedrooms. A lower level includes a bedroom with bath, family room, gym, and large storage room.

Outside, a quarter-acre landscaped backyard comes with mature plantings, a pool, outdoor shower, and sauna.
