Depends how long the car has been on the lot. Dealers like to have a car sold within a month of arrival. Probably depends on dealer, but good to (innocently) ask them when you walk in. If they say avg. turnaround time is 30 days and you find a car that has been on the lot for 100+ days, you'll get more $$$ of. How to find out how long car has been on the lot? Inside the door/frame there is sticker that says build month/year. If car is built in USA, its gets to dealer within 1 month, maybe 2, if imported, add another month. If build month/year shows e.g. 01/2020, you know the car arrived in Feb, and if you walk in today (July) and car is still there, you know they're desperate to get the car out and you can get more $$$ off. Just to confirm the arrival date, if you open the glove compartment, you'll normally find the transfer papers with exact arrival date there. Then if dealer counters and says, we sell these car like hotcakes, cannot move down on price, well then, why have you had "this" car on the lot since Feb then???
best of luck

Also, I like the 1% rule. If you are getting quoted 800$ then I expect it's a $80,000 car. Otherwise it's a bad lease.

I have done a lot of research on LeaseHackr. It's a great resource. What kind of car are you looking at? Some cars lease better than others. Volvos lease great for example. I was looking at a 55k XC60 and a 45k Acura RDX and they were giving me the same price. Do yourself a favor and hire a broker. I'm in the process of hiring one. They will pay for themselves over the course of the lease (they are about $500).

You don't negotiate lease payments. The three things you can negotiate:
1) Price of vehicle at lease inception.
2) Residual value.
3) Money factor.
If you don't understand how leasing works and are just looking for a monthly payment, don't lease.

Depends on the car. For a Camry rant would be robbery, for a Range Rover sport dynamic supercharged, it would be a bargain.

So much depends upon how hot that car is. If demand is high (see: Kia Telluride right now) you have little ability to negotiate the price down. They'll just sell it to the next buyer in line.
But if the car is not selling/leasing well and that model is starting to pile up on lots, you have a lot more room to negotiate down (see: Lincoln Continental).
There are plenty of YouTube videos about how to negotiate a lease, so check those out.

Leases are notoriously difficult for the average buyer to figure out. You should visit the forum for the car you are looking to buy and ask what others are getting for leases.
