not the pp and I don't mean to be argumentative but I think what pp is saying is that putting baby in daycare puts the baby at a little more risk to catch it and she doesn't want to take that risk until the baby could take motrin if they got it. So ti really is relevant to the daycare question..

I’m the original PP and exactly! I meant to TREAT my baby’s symptoms, not to mask the illness. Would never do that and especially with something as serious as covid.

I am planning to send mine in the fall when I am done with maternity leave. I trust our daycare and that they are following all the OSSE/CDC guidelines. I know that doesn’t take away the risk, just minimizes it but it’s a risk I am comfortable with.

Definitely go assuming that you don't have to pay if we have another wave.

My kids never got sick at daycare. Each kid had one illness before K so I would send them. I also rarely get sick.

How are you managing right now? I would pick whatever you need to survive. There haven’t been outbreaks in daycares that have been open this whole time so I wouldn’t worry much about transmission. You might be more worried.

We have a 5 month old. We are considering starting him in August.

Ratios and precautions will be better now than they ever have been. This will be helpful for your transition.

Do not start work & daycare on the same day if at all possible. Ease into daycare and then go to work. See if you can flex your time or work part-time those first few weeks.

I have a four month old and our daycare just told us he can start next month. They’ve instituted some covid procedures. I’ll be finished with maternity leave but still work from home and am nervous about sending him. Is anyone else planning to send an infant to daycare? Are there particular questions I should be asking that I may have missed. (Note they said we can hold our spot until phase 3 if we decide not to send him).
