Growing up, in my culture, washing someone's feet was a very kind and loving gesture ... my grandmother did this for me all the time when I visited. I think it is lovely (and as pointed out, voluntary).

Case in point.

I know a lot of white people who are freaking out over this photo. It’s as if they forgot what the Bible says, despite thumping it for decades. It’s so much harder to LIVE the word of God, than to recite it.

Still, I know of zero black people who are saying all white people need to do this. It was an act of symbolism freely undertaken by the participants.

I think most black people don’t want white people touching their feet!!! Lol
