Which daycares are making kids wear masks all day? That’s insane.

This is encouraging- what ages? What mask do you recommend?

My kid has been going the whole time. Hasn’t been sick once and no COVID cases.

Has anyone started daycare now? We have an infant spot at a center and aren't clear how a transition would work. We also have a 2 year old who used to be at the center and we are looking to restart. Debating keeping our part time temporary nanny who has worked out pretty well.

There are temp checks before they go in (kid and parent, but parents can’t go in), constant cleanings, teachers wear masks for the most part, etc.

Does the school provid covid case updates? If someone has it would they alert the parents?

Yes. We have had no cases.

In DC group activities like circle time are not permitted.

Circle time was often the least favorite part of the day anyway. I agree it is ridiculous from an infection control standpoint but it is ten minutes out of the day, so I wouldn’t focus on that.

My child has been going the whole time too. Nothing has changed.

For those of you who just sent kids back, how did it go this week? We have a toddler and are considering sending her back soon. Our daycare is doing a lot of cleaning and keeping classes isolated from one another, but at the end of the day if one kid has it they all will. That is one of our fears. But we are also concerned about other procedures like no circle time, which to me seems like a pointless change because they still play in the same room. We need to send her back so we can work for real. We have another kid at home (she is 6 mo) but the toddler is the real issue.
