To say don't do a certain club is dumb. Just find a coach you like at the level of play for your child. Also, there's Montgomery Rush.

I agree completely. Someone saying “don’t do” club x is just someone with an axe to grind.

Find a parent coached MSI Classic team. Will cost around $200 (including uniform) for the season, and if there is no Fall season, you will get 100% back.

Parent coached teams will only take your DC so far.. All legit travel clubs all cost in the same range. Finding the right culture is the key.

Don't do Metro United. Bethesda is great, Potomac is great. I recommend a spot that will maximize playing time, and you can also see other clubs for your next season. Make it a good choice, and try to avoid changing clubs every year, this is why I recommend not going to Metro United (because you'll likely want to leave eventually anyways and have to start over again).

"Best". Ok.

Let's start with a few questions.

What is your goal for soccer? Pro, college, high school? Play with the best athletes, the smartest soccer plays, or just your neighborhood friends and schoolmates? What is your threshold for commuting pain and how many nights a week can you handle that?

Heard some good things about FCGB, I’ll look more into them!

Also thanks for the update on Brit-Am, heard the owner is a jerk too so probably not best choice

FCGB focuses heavily in skills development. Only reason we haven’t joined is their practice locations is a little far from us especially during rush hour.

Not sure how FCGB will work now since they had the entire club practicing at one time.

Brit-Am is not a travel soccer club. Their teams plays in select soccer (ie MSI Classic).
