People I know who sent to Pitt were pre-med. it is very good in the sciences and has great med-related extracurricular opportunities for students.

+1 It's about money. Kid from neighborhood is smart, NM finalists and could probably get in anywhere but guess what? Most likely can't pay even with aid so is going a "lesser" school (as some on here would say) for free.
