You must have coached at some very small clubs, like barely able to fill out a first team type of clubs.

so let me get this straight
What you are saying is that the 2nd team coach that has that team is either not a serious coach or doesnt take player development seriously or ???

To say clubs dont take their second team development seriously is quite a statement. The fact remains is they are second team for a reason. Many of the players are either not as serious, determined or flat out not as skilled. It doesnt mean the club or coach doesnt try to develop them.

Yes its a full squad that makes money for the club but to state what you did is simply flawed in so many ways whether you coached or not

That's what I heard too, yet not one kid on my son's team got an offer to move up to the next level team. I guess maybe they plan to fill from the outside, and then reach out to current players to move up if that doesn't work.

That is terrible. I would love to know what club did that. So unprofessional.

20-30% non returning seems high to me.

I’d guarantee that 20-30% are really simply sitting on the fence to see how this summer plays out and the odds of a normal fall season happening.

If Fall is somewhat normal I think people will get back in the game but they are being cautious and rightfully so.

What age group?

Our club generally contacts the losing club/coach to get an idea of where the child should be placed if there are multiple teams in an age group.

But if you're looking to switch I know some clubs do want some videos, specially for older players and top teams. If not, then reach out to coaches in clubs your interested in and ask about Virtual tryouts.

We ran into this and we literally have no video of either of our players. Club asked for any footage we may have.

We like watching the game, not filming it.

I have a few clips of games from other parents, but they are usually focused on highlights of their child they want everyone else to see.

We are looking into getting proper equipment to film in the future--but the kind you just set up on tripod and not have to physically film.

Film isn't a requirement for transferring. But it is helpful. We sent film from our games to help a coach at our club evaluate laterals. We don't post the film publicly but everybody finds it useful, and the kids generally like it.

Film? this isnt college recruiting its youth soccer and i get it we are in COVID times

Pick up the phone and call the clubs near where you live and that make sense given your kids interest and skill level. Ask them. They will be happy to have him join and they'll explain their process given the circumstances.

Get rejected by a club usually means they place you on a lower team. I assume you were not in favor of that or the club he went for is small and doesnt have multiple teams. consider a larger club

Has anyone been cut from their lat years team? If so what's the best way latch on to a new team? Do we have our ds do drills and film him to sed to other clubs?
